Dear Republican Friends,
We have an amazing legacy. Lincoln, Douglass, Reagan, Hope. All Republicans. Gentlemen artful with the spoken and written word. As I
say, an amazing legacy.
With your help, we can also have an amazing present and future. California’s demographics are changing. New faces. New dreams. New families.
To those who seek to honor the law, to move our state forward civilly and with industry, we extend the hand of friendship and say, with a smile on our face: “Welcome.”
As your Chair, I believe:
1. We are at our best when we get back to basics. Fill our vacant Committee seats and subcommittee chairs. Field voter registration tables. Get more Republicans registered in our County. Get more Republicans elected and appointed: to fire, school and water district boards, and more.
2. We are at our best when we work collaboratively. We have a myriad of conservative groups. It’s time to realize that “our egos are not our amigos.” We must work together. It’s time to abide by the 11th Commandment: “Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican.”
3. We are at our best when we’re self-sufficient. When you provide our Central Committee with significant financial help, you’re voting with your dollars.
Your opinion is important. You’ll find a sympathetic ear. But also, ask us a question when engaging with us: “What’s the maximum amount I can contribute?” Vote with your dollars. We need them.
To those who seek to impoverish the next generation — by degrading property rights, by impeding business with overregulation and high taxes, by standing by as our cities are overrun with lawlessness – we are done with passivity.
I’m not a priest or preacher or a rabbi, but I admire many of them. Imagine your favorite before you read the next paragraph:
There are millions of Republicans in California. Not hundreds. Not thousands. But millions. To you, I say: Awake! Rise up! Rejoice! Engage!
To those who are bewildered, who are wandering without a party, we invite you to join us. Participate in the process — or face the damning consequence of your silence.
Your Earnest Servant,
Peter Coe Verbica
